After the blockbuster success of the spine-chilling thriller movie The Kashmir Files, director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri is set to premiere The Kashmir Files Unreported. The documentary series consists of a compilation of several interviews and eye-opening insights into historical, ethical, and geopolitical information. The seven-part web series will be produced by Agnihotri and his actor-wife Pallavi Joshi’s banner, IamBuddha Entertainment and Media LLP. The Kashmir Files Unreported will premiere soon on the ZEE5 streaming service in selected countries.
Director-Producer Vivek Agnihotri expressed, “The genocide in Kashmir is not just a stain on India but on humanity itself. It is considered one of the biggest hidden tragedies of our time. It was crucial for us to narrate this story truthfully. Previous movies, literature, and media coverage focused on contemporary events. However, with ‘The Kashmir Files,‘ based on four years of extensive research, we opened people’s eyes after 32 years.”
He also added, “The film, however, sparked polarizing views; some believed it showed only 10% of reality, while others saw it as propaganda. Hence, we felt the need to present all the research and interviews in their purest and rawest form, allowing people to grasp the difficulty of the truth. I can assure you that ‘The Kashmir Files Unreported‘ will deeply move you, but our intention is to learn from history, foster zero tolerance for terrorism, and stand up for humanity and our own people.”
Producer Pallavi Joshi revealed that their movie, The Kashmir Files, was the result of four years of extensive research. The pain and agony expressed by the Kashmiri Pandit community during their interactions deeply impacted the team, making them realize that this tragic story had not been adequately known by the government, administration, media, and others. The film, despite being three hours long, only scratched the surface of the immense tragedy. In response to claims that the movie was propaganda, the team decided to present The Kashmir Files web series to showcase the extensive research and reveal the horrifying stories directly from the mouths of the affected Pandits. The series aims to inform every Indian about the significance of Kashmir to India and its intrinsic connection to the country.”
