Agnyathavasi Movie and Andhar Maya Series
New Releases WHAT TO WATCH

Hola, binge watchers! Welcome back to another week of finding the best OTT releases for you. If you’re in India, you’re probably all gloomy with the weather changes, early monsoon, and the gloomy weather itself. However, if you’re in the US or some place similar, you’re probably waiting for Summer. Either way, it’s a great time to cancel any weekend plans and binge-watch some new releases on OTT. Whether you like gripping murder mysteries or spine-chilling horror series, the latest OTT releases week will not disappoint. Here’s everything hot and fresh dropping from May 26 to June 1 on your favourite OTT platforms.

1. Agnyathavasi

Streaming on ZEE5 from May 28, 2025, Agnyathavasi is a Kannada movie that blends crime, drama, and mystery with haunting beauty. It takes you back to the late 1990s in the quaint village of Nalkeri in Malenadu. It’s a self-proclaimed crime-free village, so obviously the police station is pretty idle. That is, till a landlord in the village, Srinivasaiah, dies mysteriously. Inspector Govindu announces this to be a murder, and then another person dies, deepening the mystery. With atmospheric visuals and a haunting score, this one’s a slow-burn thriller with depth and undoubtedly one of my favorite OTT releases this week.

Perfect For: Fans of crime movies who enjoy a good suspense combined with atmospheric storytelling, emotional depth, and a lot of drama.

2. Andhar Maya

Love Horror movies? I’ve got something for you. It isn’t exactly a movie, but a horror web series. In fact, it’s the first-ever horror ZEE5 original. Yes, I’m talking about Andhar Maya, streaming on ZEE5 from May 30, 2025. And this one is here to make you question even the shadows that lurk in the dark. Set in an old Konkan wada (mansion), the story involves a woman uncovering the dark truths of her ancestry. With time loops, creepy corners, and secrets that refuse to stay buried, this is a genuinely chilling ride and one of the most awaited web series releasing this week.

Perfect For: Horror lovers, regional content fans, and anyone who enjoys being scared with a side of culture.

3. Captain America: Brave New World

One of the most anticipated OTT releases this week is Captain America: Brave New World. Streaming from May 28, this one follows Sam Wilson’s first full-blown solo mission as he finally dons the stars and stripes officially as the new Captain America. And trust me, this one is not just about throwing the shield. Expect geo-political intrigue, the Red Hulk tease, and Anthony Mackie in peak “hold my vibranium” mode.

Perfect For: Marvel fans, lovers of action movies, and those who always wanted a solo Captain America movie.

4. Criminal Justice: Season 4 – A Family Matter

Love Pankaj Tripathi movies? Watch him come back with a bang as everyone’s favourite underdog lawyer, Madhav Mishra, in this gripping series. This time, it’s personal — a high-profile family dispute that turns ugly and lands in court. The courtroom heat intensifies as Madhav battles not just for justice, but for what defines family, love, and moral truth. You can’t miss this one streaming from May 29.

Perfect For: Fans of courtroom dramas, Indian series with a lot of thrill, or just good old-fashioned storytelling.

5. HIT: The Third Case

Nani’s gory murder-mystery finally drops online on May 29. The third installment of the HIT franchise(Homicide Intervention Team) lands with more blood, more suspense, and more edge-of-your-seat action. This time, Nani plays a brooding cop investigating a twisted serial killer case in Jammu and Kashmir. Now that it’s available in multiple languages, there’s no excuse for you to dodge this twisty cop saga.

Perfect For: Viewers who love gritty, well-paced crime movies, like a solid investigative thriller or simply loved the previous two instalments of this franchise.

6. Kankhajura

Diving into the world of Magpie, this Indian thriller stars Mohit Raina and Roshan Mathew streaming from May 30. It revolves around two brothers caught in a dark web of secrets, shady deals, and betrayal in sun-drenched Goa. Kankhajura (Hindi for centipede) is both a metaphor and a mood — the tension crawls under your skin slowly but surely.

Perfect For: Anybody who loves twisty, psychological thriller series with mind games and complex characters.

7. A Complete Unknown

Timothée Chalamet transforms into young Bob Dylan in this highly anticipated biopic directed by James Mangold(Walk the Line). The film traces Dylan’s meteoric rise, from a no-name folk singer in Greenwich Village to a voice of a generation. With original Dylan songs, period visuals, and Timmy doing his own singing, this one’s a treat for music and cinema nerds alike, premiering on May 31.

Perfect For: Bob Dylan fans, Timothée Chalamet fans, music lovers, and biopic buffs who enjoy a good poetic storytelling.
