Siblings! You love them? You hate them? You can’t live with them? But you definitely can’t live without them! I know, it’s a constant struggle. Whether they’re older, younger, or your twin partner-in-crime, your sibling is the one person who can drive you absolutely insane and still be your ride-or-die. One moment, you’ll be fighting with them, and the next moment, you’ll be fighting with someone else for them! I know everyone reading this who has a sibling will agree to this.
And that’s why we celebrate Siblings Day every year on April 10, honoring this chaotic yet heartwarming relationship. Now, there are certain things only someone with a sibling can understand. If you’re a single child, I’m sorry, but you probably won’t relate. For everyone else – On Siblings Day 2025, let’s take a look at 15 things you’ll totally relate to if you have a sibling!
1. Blaming Each Other, for Literally Everything!
From spilled milk to broken vase, or mysteriously vanished cake? It has to be their fault. Obviously. Remember how Suraj and Akash blame each other for every single thing in Jagriti? Yup, that’s what most of us do.
2. The Secret Language
Nobody has a better secret language than you and your sibling. From weird inside jokes to code words and glances that no one else understands, it’s like telepathy, but sassier! You see how Neel and Manjri communicate with each other in Jamai No. 1? That’s what we’re talking about. It’s one of the best things about having a sibling, and nobody gets it better than them.
3. The Snack Stealer
Remember hiding your favorite chocolate so that your brother or sister doesn’t steal it? Rookie mistake. I’ve done that too. Yet somehow, they always find it. It’s annoying, I know! Just sibling things, I guess.
4. The Annoying But Adorable Nicknames
Chotu, Motu, Ladduu, Doll, Chukti, etc, there may be so many nicknames that your siblings use to call you. You might hate it, but you gotta admit it—you kind of secretly like it! More importantly, you’d be really confused if they ever called you by your actual name. I might even wonder what I did wrong if my siblings call me by my real name. Remember how Khushi always called Purvi, Piyu in Kumkum Bhagya? That’s what I’m talking about!
5. Ganging Up on the Parents(When Necessary)
You might fight to death with each other, but when it’s you two vs. Mom and Dad, an unbreakable alliance is formed! You see how Rishi and Ayush team up when they need to face their parents in Bhagya Lakshmi? That’s what a strong sibling connection looks like!
6. Embarrassing Baby Photos/Stories
Do you even have a sibling if you haven’t shown their photos or narrated their stories to their love interests? I still remember Nimmi recalling some of Virat’s childhood memories in front of Amruta to pull his leg in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye.
7. The “Who’s the Favorite?” Debate
Let’s be real. You can probably never get the answer to this one. Almost every parent has the same phrase – “You both are like my two eyes, how can I choose between one?” But yes, you can keep fighting, claiming that you’re the favourite like Rahul and Rohan did in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
8. Celebrating Each Other’s Wins(Even If You Pretend Not to Care)
You may not always say it, but you’re secretly proud of them. You see how happy Devansh gets when Avinash is appreciated in Vasudha and vice versa? That’s how real brothers are! Just don’t do it too often, or it might go to their head.
9. Being Each Other’s Forever Backup
From covering up your lies to saving you in awkward social situations, your sibling has always got your back, no matter how much you fight. I mean, Reet and Raghav literally got married to each other for the sake of their siblings in Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile! How can any relationship top that?
10. Realizing No One Else Gets You Like They Do
From all the fights to late-night talks, shared secrets, and belly laughs, your sibling is your partner for everything(and occasional worst enemy). You might hate them at times, but you also love them a lot. And as you grow, the realization hits you that nobody knows you like they do.
Happy Siblings Day 2025!
Tag your sibling, hug them(if they allow it), and send them this list with a “This is SO us” message. And if you’re looking for things to do on Siblings Day, go out with them, or order in some food, watch some latest movies on ZEE5, or simply spend some quality time with them. The time you have with them is precious, so celebrate every moment of it!
What’s your most relatable sibling moment? Did we miss it? Share it with your sibling and have a hearty laugh!
