Coming back to the mini-series at hand, Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting is the story of a series of uncanny events in the fictional village of Viraatapalem. The death of many young brides, right after their wedding sparks a rumour in the village that a curse is the cause behind so many lives lost. As a result of such a rumour, there has been no weddings in the village for over a decade.
In the middle of this chaos lands Constable Meena, who arrives just after the death of yet another bride. Meena is shocked to learn that no cases have been filed for these girls, as curses don’t make it to the evidence file or witness box! Meena, now sets out to solve the mystery, all by herself. Will she ever find the truth? That is your answer to find. This is the first ever miniseries in Telugu and runs over 7 episodes, each filled with mystery.

Question from ZEE5 – What made you say yes to Viraatapalem?
Abhignya – The story caught my attention! Secondly, not everyone gets a chance to head a title, so early in their career. When I sat down with the producers, the premise intrigued me. I also believed that this is a story, that has so many twists and turns that it will bring out the best in me.
Question from ZEE5– If given a choice between a film and a series, what would you choose?
Abhignya – For me, it is always the story and not the format. Any story that allows me to be close to the people who see me on screen.
Question from ZEE5 – What is the one thing common between you and Meena?
Abhignya – The one thing that is common between Meena and me is that the two of us love mystery driven stories. What sets Meena apart is that she is more solution oriented. Meena is selfless and can’t stand anything wrong going on around her, she will go above and beyond in solving a mystery or righting the wrong. She doesn’t care about what the world thinks of her, she is just passionately following her gut to solve a crisis.
